On a day-to-day basis, you can sum up my style in one word: “Athleisure.” And thank goodness we live in an era where athleisure is acceptable as well as stylish!
Here’s a few tips on how I style athleisure on a daily basis!
On an average day, I could be running around town – in and out of stores, inside closets, hauling clothes and boxes, etc. So, for me, dressing comfortably and practically is important.
Athleisure is my favorite style category because it allows you to wear leggings and sneakers, but still look put together. Your unique style can be injected into what you wear everyday, even when you’re running around and need to be comfy!
Even though I’m running around town, I’m still having to face clients, potential clients, business owners, store managers, etc. I’m always the face of my business, so looking put together and stylish is still a priority that can’t be pushed to the side.
How to style athleisure for your day-to-day life!
- The key to athleisure is blending activewear with other casual pieces. That’s why I love fashion sneakers or slides – they’re not shoes you would ever actually work out in, but still have an activewear vibe. I love using leather jackets, utility jackets, or cozy cardigan for this look too.
- Another way to dress up your on-the-go look is taking an extra few minutes to throw on a little makeup and mange your hair. That can make the biggest difference in your overall look and mood!
- Fashion is anything you adorn on your body. So look at everything you put on your body – from hairstyles to makeup to purses and even nailpolish – as opportunities for personal style!
A bit about this style
The jacket above is actually from Posh, a local boutique here in Nashville that I just adore. While they’re all sold out at the boutique, you can find a similar jacket on Cupcakes and Chasmere!
These are the leggings I’m wearing, and they’re hands-down the best leggings I’ve ever owned – definitely worth the investment! You can find them on the Spanx website here!
I love these grey sneakers – so much so, I bought multiple colors! While they’re all sold out on Nordstrom, you can find similar ones here!
I love the long sleeve basic I have on under the jacket. It’s long enough to wear with leggings, is a good fit, and is nice and thin so it’s perfect for layering.
This is an example of a great basic that everyone needs to keep updated and stocked in their closet for the cold months! Basics might not be the glamorous or fun thing to shop for, but they can be important foundation pieces for lots of outfits.
I got mine from TJ Maxx! I think it was $12 or $13, so I got it in two colors because it was such a great price. Here’s a similar option that you can buy online!
My sunglasses are from QUAY, and I love them! I love this brand because they’re high quality, on trend sunglasses, but without the designer price tag. I can’t do designer sunglasses because I’m awful about putting them on my head and throwing them in the bottom of my purse.
My Rebecca Minkoff crossbody was a Nordstrom Rack steal! I love the grey color, I get so much use out of it. I think it’s good to have kind of a “sportier” bag like that for when you’re running around in sneakers. The bag above is the same bag but in velvet – not the same sporty feel, but fun for the holidays!
