A perfectly put-together activewear outfit is one of my favorite go-to’s for weekend wear! It’s perfect for running errands around town and impromptu coffee dates with friends. Finding the right items can be tough, but here are a few of my favorite activewear brands for 2018.
Heads-Up: This post is packed with some brands that I’m really excited about and truly love!
Athletic Propulsion Labs
Let’s start with these APL sneakers – APL has been forming quite the bandwagon over recent years, and after seeing this sale price, I finally jumped on! The pair I have on are still 50%, which is an awesome deal.
I’ve been wearing them since they came in a few weeks ago, and can attest to their comfort and versatility.
Note: These probably aren’t the best shoes to wear for long runs or rigorous workouts. I wear them more for running around town, working, and light walks. I like to have one pair of serious gym/running shoes, but try not to wear them outside of working out, so that they don’t wear out as quickly. So these are the perfect pair to change into after I leave the gym and am ready to run errands!
Lorna Jane
Another brand that deserves some bragging is Lorna Jane! It’s always so cool when you get to watch a brand or company that you love grow and flourish.
I bought this pair of Lorna Jane leggings about 3 years ago in a really cool, activewear boutique in St.Louis called Dimvaloo (think like a local/boutique version of lululemon). At that time, that boutique was one of the only retailers in the US that carried this Australian-based brand.
Now, Lorna Jane has turned into a fitness empire, with books, recipes, and a really beautiful company culture (you should totally check out her books and podcasts if you want some encouragement and inspiration on your wellness journey).
Now that I’m done gushing over this boss-lady brand, I can really attest to the product. I know these leggings are a little pricey – but they are seriously that good!
I also have a couple Lorna Jane tanks that have little encouraging phrases on them, which I love. And can we talk about how I’ve had this pair of leggings for 3 years and they’re still some of my faves? They pass the test in my book!
YOUman
Moving on up to this tank, which is from another super feel-good company called good YOUman. Not only are these tanks some of the cutest and most comfortable I’ve found, but they’re constantly collaborating with different nonprofits to donate a portion of their sales.
If you do come across a good YOUman piece in a boutique (I scored this one at one of my faves, Alexis + Bolt), check out the tag and see what charity is benefiting from that purchase! Also, did I mention, they’re like really, really cute? The exact tank I’m wearing is out of stock, but here’s a very similar style!
Everlane
When it comes to activewear and athliesure, a bomber jacket is one of my favorite things to wear! A nylon bomber seems to perfectly bridge that gap between gym and street style
I have a bomber jacket in a dark olive green, as well, and get so much use out of it. A bomber jacket + graphic tee + leggings + fashion sneakers is pretty much my Sunday uniform! The one I’m wearing with this outfit is from another fave Nashville boutique, Posh, but I also love this one from Everlane.
I love and support the Everlane brand because they focus on full transparency and honesty with their prices, materials and clothing journey. When you purchase an item, you know it’s being produced in an ethical factory for an ethical wage. A plus? Every Black Friday, they donate their profits to improve the lives of their factory workers around the world. Now that’s cool.
Tip: Sign up for their email newsletter. Every now and then they have choose-your-price sales!
(Oh, I can’t forget the most important detail of this look…August! Shout out to rescue and adoption pups – they really are the best!)
It’s awesome to find activewear that you feel good in, because it makes you excited and encouraged to move your body! What are some activewear pieces or brands that motivate you?
