Have I ever hunted a day in my life? No. Do I ever plan on it? No. Do I still support a little camo here and there? You betcha. So often we tend to shy away from wearing bold prints like camo, leopard print and stripes, but here’s how I confidently style bold prints for a night out or an afternoon of traversing the town!
1. Go for a bold, fun print that lights you up.
A touch of a fun print (whether it’s camo, leopard, stripes, etc) is a great way to make a classic piece, such as a blazer, feel more modern. Don’t shy away from patterns that you’re drawn to! If it reflects your personality and you love it, go all in!
Appropriately enough, I got this fun camo blazer at a boutique in Paducah, Ky called McClaran Manner. If you want to track down this exact jacket, I would give McClaran Manner a call and see if she can order it for you. I’ll also link some similar styles.
2. Tell a story or make a statement.
Every time we get dressed it’s a chance for us to say a little something to the world, and sometimes that can tell a really cool story. I feel a little extra special (maybe even a little…dare I say… cool) when I wear this tee, and it has nothing to do with the way it makes me look- it’s all about the story that comes with it.
During my last trip to Memphis, my dad and I toured the famous Sun Studios, which now, of course, is an awesome museum (for any non-music nerds out there, Sun Studios is the recording studio where a lot of greats like Elvis and Johny Cash got their start).
Like every good southern, daddy’s girls, I was brought up to love good music, and we’ve always enjoyed that together. Afterward, we were walking around downtown and stumbled upon one of the coolest boutique/coffee shop called Stock & Belle. They had everything from locally made jewelry to craft beer on tap- the perfect spot for a daddy/daughter pit-stop. We found this tee-shirt picturing BB King in his younger years, locally made by a company called Boswell + Lily.
A shirt for me and a beer for dad? Deal. Here are a few fun shirts I adore!
3. Dress it up with heels and accessories.
The booties I’m wearing add just the right touch of ‘rock n roll’, and truly are super comfy despite the taller heel. The brand is Kaanas and I got them at Alexis + Bolt (a favorite Nashville boutique). There’s still a couple pair left at Alexis + Bolt, but I’ll link some similar styles as well below!
These rag and bone jeans are my go-tos and all-time favorites. I love the raw hem and high elastic percentage they have. Tip- whenever you’re wearing a unisex or looser fitting tee like this, be sure to give it a little ‘half tuck’ into the front of your jeans. It just helps give a more styled look and fights away frump.
Y’all know this Rebecca Minkoff crossbody of mine is on repeat. I found this one at discounted Nordstrom Rack. This is a great example of mixing neutrals in an outfit!
